Financial Aid

Before you apply for Financial Aid

Before you apply for Financial Aid Before making an application for financial aid, please note that SDC analyses every application thoroughly.

Evidence required includes bank statements and personal information of students or their guardian's financial situation.

A select few are chosen for consideration and out of these, even fewer are approved. Candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds or those with exceptional motivational reasons are preferred. If you do not feel you fall into any of these qualifying categories, we encourage you to rather seek a student loan or enquire with the college about its in-house funding options.

General Info

Workplace Financial Assistance

Many students attending courses at SDC have their fees paid by their guardian's companies. The College will assist with a motivation letter that you may submit to your parents workplace.

Student Loan

Style Design College is a registered institution and so applicants may apply with their local banks for student loans. Any information required for your loan application will be provided by the Admissions office.

College Grant

SDC offers a partial grant to a select number of low-income household applicants. The College will subsidise a considerable amount of the tuition fees but require that the applicant pay a reduced monthly fee by debit order.

Eligibility
Applicants must first meet the course admission requirements. Only applicants between the ages of 17 and 21 may apply. Applicants must provide sufficient evidence proving the collective household income is less then R120 000.00 per anum before deductions.

Bursary

SDC offers the Comprehensive Bursary and Supplementary bursary. The bursaries on offer are awarded at the discretion of the donor. Application must be made online or through the Admissions office.

Scholarships

SDC will periodically offer a scholarship to an applicant with exceptional talent or an applicant that has achieved success in prior learning or experiential learning.

African State Education Grants

Applicants from African countries requiring financial assistance are advised to contact their local Education department for advice on receiving a scholarship. SDC will liaise with the relevant education department and assist in any legalities. Your enquiry may open the door for many other students from your country wishing to study design in South Africa.
